Explicitly broken lepton number at low energy in the Higgs triplet model

We suppose that lepton number is explicitly broken at low energy scale(M) in the framework of the Higgs triplet(Δ\Delta) model. The scalar sector of the model is developed considering the particular assumption M=vΔ≈M=v_\Delta \approx eV. We show that such assumption infers a particular mass spectrum for the scalars that compose the triplet and cause a decoupling of these scalars from those that compose the standard scalar doublet.Comment: Minor changes, New references added, To appear at MPL

NNLO predictions for Z-boson pair production at the LHC

We present a calculation of the NNLO QCD corrections to Z-boson pair production at hadron colliders, based on the N-jettiness method for the real radiation parts. We discuss the size and shape of the perturbative corrections along with their associated scale uncertainties and compare our results to recent LHC data at s=13\sqrt{s}=13 TeV.Comment: 19 pages, 2 Tables, 4 figures. Triple seesaw mechanism

    Get PDF
On fitting the type II seesaw mechanism into the type I seesaw mechanism, we obtain a formula to the neutrino masses which get suppressed by high-scale M3M^3 in its denominator. As a result, light neutrinos are naturally obtained with new physics at TeV scale. As interesting consequence, the mechanism may be directly probed at the LHC by directly producing the TeV states intrinsic of the mechanism. We show that the 3-3-1 model with right-handed neutrinos realizes naturally such seesaw mechanism.Comment: About 13 pages, no figure

Spontaneous CP violation in the 3-3-1 model with right-handed neutrinos

We implement the mechanism of spontaneous CP violation in the 3-3-1 model with right-handed neutrinos and recognize their sources of CP violation. Our main result is that the mechanism works already in the minimal version of the model and new sources of CP violation emerges as an effect of new physics at energies higher than the electroweak scale.Comment: Major changes in the quark sector, electronic dipole moment of the neutron was evaluated, accepted for publication in the physical review

Majorana Dark Matter in Minimal Higgs Portal Models after LUX

We consider the Singlet Majorana fermion dark matter model, in which the standard model particles interact with the dark sector through the mixing of a singlet scalar and the Higgs boson. In this model both the dark matter and the singlet scalar carry lepton number, the latter being a bilepton. We suppose the existence of a Z2Z_2 symmetry, remnant of some high energy local symmetry breaking, that stabilizes the Majorana fermion. We analyzed the parameter space of this model and found that the lepton number symmetry breaking scale, drove by the singlet scalar, is constrained to be within hundreds to thousands of GeV, so as to conform with the observed dark matter relic density. Finally, we address the direct detection and invisible Higgs decay complementarity, confronting our model with recent LUX and LHC constraints, as well as XENON1T prospects.Comment: 20 pages, 12 figure
